• Arrests
Leanne Cherice Simpson, 42, turned herself in at the Mitchell County jail at 8:44 a.m. Wednesday on a 132nd District Court warrant for failure to appear at a hearing regarding a motion for enforcement on child support. Simpson was transported to the Scurry County Jail.
At 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, a 37-year-old male was arrested in the 300 block of 24th Street on warrants for driving while license invalid and failure to maintain financial responsibility.
A 40-year-old female was arrested at 12:48 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of 25th Street on two warrants for parent contributing to non-attendance.
At 1:40 p.m. Wednesday, a 19-year-old female was arrested at the intersection of 30th Street and Ave. M on a warrant for theft.
A 33-year-old female was arrested in the 2500 block of Ave. M at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for bail jumping/failure to appear.
A 40-year-old male was arrested at 12:10 a.m. today in the 400 block of 34th Street on a warrant for bail jumping/failure to appear.
• Assault
An assault was reported at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of German Street in Hermleigh.
• Theft
At 4:01 p.m. Wednesday, an employee at Walmart Supercenter reported a theft at the store.
• Fire
The Snyder Fire Department received a call at 10:07 p.m. Wednesday from the 2100 block of 26th Street from a woman who said a pan on her stove had caught fire. She said the fire was traveling up the wall. The fire was put out by firefighters and one person was transported to Cogdell Memorial Hospital.
• Accident
A two-vehicle accident was reported at 3:42 p.m. Wednesday in the 2000 block of Towle Park Road.
• Wednesday blotter notes
Scurry County EMS responded to three medical calls.
Two non-accident, traffic-related calls were received.
Five alarms were reported.
