One-act play entries ready for area

The one-act play companies for Snyder and Hermleigh high schools will compete in area round contests this week.
Snyder will compete in Graham on Thursday, while Hermleigh will take the stage in the area contest on Friday at Abilene Wylie High School.
Snyder students are staging A View From the Bridge. During last week’s bi-district contest, Brody Jasso and Whitney Tubbs were named to the all-star cast while Bergandi Alvarado and Collin Guynes were named to the honorable mention all-star cast. Madison Mitchell was named the outstanding technician at the contest.
At the District 5-4A contest held in Snyder last month, Snyder earned the top play award. 
Jasso was named the district’s best actor and Tubbs was named the best actress. Alvarado was named to the all-star cast while Guynes and Brett Brunson earned honorable mention all-star cast honors. Johnny-Dean Maresch was named an outstanding technician.
Other members of the cast and crew are Caitlyn Crane, Olivia Haley, Zoe Row, Madison Mitchell, Jaqulynn Craig, Oriana Renshaw, Aurora Savedra, Temo Olvera, Jaden West, Alex Monroy, Maria Martinez, Will Haley, Baylee Green, Emmah Hilburn-Herrera, Adrian Monroy, Tuesday Waltz, Noah Grant and Eli McClain.
Hermleigh is staging These Shining Lives with the cast and crew garnering many awards this season. 
At last week’s bi-district contest, Brianna Rawls and Haygen Halkowitz earned all-star cast honors while Javier DelReal and Jacklyn Clinkinbeard were named to the honorable mention all-star cast. Brittany Smith earned an outstanding crew award.
At the district contest, Clinkinbeard was named the best actress and Rawls was named to the all-star cast. Honorable mention all-star cast members were DelReal and Halkowitz.
Other members of the cast and crew are Riley White, Camryn Hill, Serenaty Vargas, Grace Rister, Kaebren Hill, Emma Dugan, Colter Smith, Blake Hancock, Stormi Cobb, Bailey Pierce, Tyler Thompson, Baeleigh Botts and Mercedes Smith.
