A permit application was filed with the City of Snyder for a possible strip mall in front of the former Walmart building.
City Zoning Administrator Vick Chambers said the city received the application earlier this month. He said the plans are “extremely preliminary” and there is not much information. The Snyder Fire Department will also review the plans for the building.
The permit was applied for by Lubbock-based CMS Properties, which has built shopping centers in West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. The Snyder application calls for the construction of an 80’x190’ building.
Development Corporation of Snyder (DCOS) Executive Director Bill Lavers said during today’s board of directors meeting that the 15,200-square foot property and one business would be Dollar Tree.
He also said a clothing store would be in the strip mall.
Chambers said the proposed building would face College Ave. and be parallel to Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, in front of the former Walmart building.
