The seventh annual Save Second Base Music Festival is set for Friday and Saturday at the rodeo grounds on Gary Brewer Road.
Gates will open at 6 p.m. Friday and noon Saturday. Activities close at midnight each day.
Lori Sealy will sign with Greg Maldo Friday night before Electric Cowboys and Grupo Vida go on stage. Music performers for Saturday will begin with Jamie Richards.
Also scheduled to perform are Mark Powell and Lariat, Matt Kimbrow, Saints Eleven, 12 oz. Symphony and Snake Doctor.
Other performers are scheduled throughout the festival, including the Friday night campfire session.
A cancer memorial will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday.
Wendy Hodge, Snyder We Care board treasurer, said all proceeds from the event will go to Snyder We Care to provide free mammograms during October.
Snyder We Care is a non-profit organization that provides free mammograms and supports families affected by cancer.
“I think it’s really important and we do a lot of good with it in Scurry County,” Hodge said. “Proceeds go toward funding free mammograms for anyone 40 years or older in Scurry County in the month of October at Cogdell.”
Hodge said that after the festival people may contact anyone on the board or secretary Krystyl Valentine at 207-5302 to request a $50 voucher.
“They just need to contact one of us and we will fix them up with a voucher.”
This year’s event will include new activities.
“This one is even bigger than normal. We have a lot of things for kids,” Hodge said.
A $10 bracelet with a paid admission will allow entrance to the inflatable obstacle courses both days.
Other activities include a silent and live action by Q&L Auctioneering, a bra decorating contest, a men’s wet T-shirt contest and Knockerball paintball. There will also be a free children’s train ride.
Organizers had made plans for a steak and appetizer cook-off, but it was cancelled.
Free RV spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are no water or electric hook ups, but people may use a generator. Attendees may also take a tent to camp out.
Volunteers are needed for a four-hour shift and donations are needed to the auctions. To donate or volunteer, call Valentine.
Admission for adults is $30 for both days and $25 for one day. Ticket price for children 12 and under is $5. The VIP ticket, which includes entrance both days, a meal on Saturday and 10 drink tickets, is $100.
Tickets may be purchased at the gate or online at https://outhousetickets.com/Event/Event8453.  Online ticket purchases include a free T-shirt and must be made by noon Friday.
