The Scurry County Appraisal Review Board will meet Wednesday and Thursday this week to hear protests and motions from property owners on the appraised values of their properties

The agendas for each day’s meetings are identical. During each session, the board will establish a quorum, hear public comments and approve the minutes of the previous meeting.

Next, the board will hear and determine motions from Chief Appraiser Jackie Martin. Motions each day include correction of prior years under Property Tax Code Sec. 25.25; approval of the change report for prior years’ appraisal rolls; and approval of the 2020 Supplemental Appraisal Records.

Protests and motions from property owners are next on the agenda each day. The board will conduct protest hearings, approve or disapprove the validity of late-filed protests and conduct the late-filed protests that they approve.

Following each day’s protests and motions, the board may adjourn to closed session to discuss pending or contemplated litigation with an attorney.

Each day’s meeting begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Appraisal District office, 2612 College Ave.
