The Snyder Independent School District board of trustees will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the possibility of closing the Snyder Junior High School campus and options for re-opening the school in the 2020-2021 school year.
The item comes after Texas Education Agency (TEA) Commissioner Mike Morath rejected the school district’s dual-pathway realignment plan for second through eighth grades Jan. 14.
The rejection left the district with two options: Sign an agreement with a charter company to operate Snyder Junior High School, or reopen the school with a different academic program.
During the meeting, the school board will also hear a report on the Lone Star Governance (LSG) cohort.
