The Snyder Junior High School music and theater department will present Ian Fleming’s Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr. today and Sunday.
The musical will be staged at 7 p.m. today and 2 p.m. Sunday in the cafetorium. Tickets are $5 each and may be purchased at the door.
The story focuses on Caractacus Potts, played by Jaxon West, an inventor of things that don’t quite work the way they should. He is raising his two children, Jeremy and Jemima, played by Brite Hinton and Allison Alanis, with the help of his father “Grandpa,” played by Tanner Tubbs. 
The family meets Truly Scrumptious, played by Madalyn Hernandez, and begins an adventure with a broken-down race car named Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, played by Shelby Carter, Elayna Cross, Izzy Gonzalez, Chloe Hombrebueno, Madison Jent and Mela Ramos. 
The adventure includes an evil Baron, Baroness, spies and child-catcher played, by Ben Garcia, Mary Kubena, Isabel Rocha, Gillian Crist and Emma Brunson, respectively. 
The rest of the cast and crew includes Brenden Mitchell as The Toymaker, Alma Corona as Chef 3, Levi Scott as Soldier 1, Jackie Kincaid as Soldier 2, Keylee Wagner, stage manager, Ella Nobles on sound, Lance Wiggins on lights and Robert Turner on the spotlight.
