The Snyder Rotary Club has suspended its residential American Flag program, but will continue to place flags along College Ave. and around the downtown square.

“It is with a heavy heart that we must temporarily suspend the Residential American Flag program,” the club wrote in a letter. “For now, we have decided it is in the best interest of the organization and in service to our community for us to suspend the residential program and focus on what we do best: student scholarships, books for babies, the dictionary project, free Thanksgiving meals and the Main Street American Flag program (Snyder Square and College Avenue).”

The club is accepting donations to support the Main Street Flag program and its community service projects. The recommended donation is $40.

Donations may be mailed to P.O. Box 1031, Snyder, TX 79550.

The flag programs are the club’s only annual fundraiser.

“The loss of income from the Residential American Flag program, our only fundraiser, will mean we have to adjust what we can accomplish in 2020,” the letter stated. “Please help us move forward and continue to serve the Snyder area with quality programs that our volunteers can sustain.”
