A Sweetwater man was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty to felony theft charges in 132nd District Court this week.
In addition to the prison term, Stetson Scott Shirley, 27, must pay a fine of $1,500 and $919 in court costs and attorney fees.
Shirley was convicted of stealing clothing and jewelry valued at less than $100 on Dec. 13.
The conviction was enhanced to felony status due to two prior theft convictions — theft of a firearm on Jan. 8, 2014 in the 32nd District Court in Nolan County and theft on May 20, 2015 in the Multi-County Court of Law No. 1 in Nolan County.
