Three Scurry County roads are scheduled to have cracks repaired this week, according to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
As part of a maintenance contract involving various roadways in Fisher, Haskell, Kent, Scurry and Stonewall counties, TxDOT contractors began work on FM 1607 and FM 1609 on Wednesday.
Construction on FM 1609 is expected to continue today and work on FM 1607 will continue on Saturday. Work on Hwy. 208 is scheduled to begin today and continue through Saturday.
TxDOT Abilene Public Information Officer Mary Belle Turner said crews will start on one end of the road work toward the other and all work should be completed by Saturday, weather permitting.
Drivers can expect to encounter lane closures with pilot cars guiding drivers through some work zones. In some cases, brief delays can be expected.
Drivers are encouraged to watch for crews and equipment in the work zones.
