Two men were found dead inside a residence in the 2100 block of Ave. Z Sunday morning.
Snyder Police Chief Terry Luecke said the two victims, who have not been identified, suffered stab and gunshot wounds.
Autopsies are scheduled for Tuesday in Lubbock, Luecke said.
Snyder police officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Ave. Z at 8:55 a.m. Sunday in reference to a suspicious vehicle parked on the road. Officers located the vehicle with its engine running by the mailboxes.
At 9:13 a.m., a female and a male went to the law enforcement center, where the female reported two people had broken into their house at approximately 4 a.m. Luecke confirmed today that the two people were Nicole Dabney, 28, of Snyder, and Juan Ramon Barron, 24, of Phoenix, Ariz. They were charged with tampering with evidence.
“The female made the comment that two men had tried to break into the house, and they had killed them,” Luecke said. “They told us where the bodies were located. Officers did respond to the scene and did locate two male subjects who were deceased.”
The victims did not have identification on them, but police are working on leads to identify them.  Their names were being withheld until positive identification is made and families are notified.
According to a press release, Omar Diaz, 21, was listed as the complainant/victim.
Sgt. Mike Counts is leading the investigation.
Luecke said today that the case remains under investigation, led by Sgt. Mike Counts.
“It’s just preliminary and we’re trying to tie up loose ends,” Luecke said.
