NewLife Alliance will host a National Night Out for residents, first responders, local businesses and agencies from 5-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Villages at Snyder, located at 1021 37th St.
The event will include vendors, door prizes, food and music. The music will be provided by Javier Franco with High Sky Children’s Ranch.
NewLife Alliance and Alpha-Barnes, the development’s management agency, have participated in National Night Out since 2011.
Shari Fanndal, the development’s manager, said last year’s event drew 153 people.
Fanndal said local businesses and agencies are invited to set up a booth and promote their business, provide giveaways or host a game. She said participants are encouraged to decorate their booths with red, white and blue in honor of emergency personnel.
National Night Out was created to heighten awareness of crime and drug prevention, generate support and participation in anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police and community partnerships and to send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are prepared to fight back against crime.
“NewLife Alliance and The Villages at Snyder believe in supporting our police department, fire department and emergency services of Snyder. Together we can all make a difference in our communities,” Fanndal said.
Residents of the Villages at Snyder will turn on their outside lights to show their support for first responders.
