The Snyder Chamber of Commerce board of directors took no action, due to the lack of a quorum, on two hotel occupancy tax (HOT) fund requests during Monday’s meeting.
Western Texas College rodeo coach Greg Rhodes applied for $8,000 for the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association event at The Coliseum.
Rhodes said because the event continues to grow each year, he applied for $1,500 more than for 2016. His application stated more than 500 contestants will participate in this year’s rodeo, which will be held at The Coliseum March 30 through April 1.
Directors also took no action on a $1,842 request for the Scurry County Museum Chocolate Fest, which will take place Feb. 11.
The board will review the applications and vote on alotting HOT funds during a December meeting.
