Ernie B. Armstrong has announced his candidacy for re-election as 132nd Judicial District Judge.
In announcing his candidacy, Armstrong said, “It has been my privilege to serve the citizens of Borden and Scurry counties as judge for this court since first being appointed to the bench by Gov. Bush. Previously, I was honored to serve the citizens of these counties for 10-plus years as district attorney.
“I am married to the former Becky Johnson. We have five children and eight wonderful grandchildren. Becky and I attend Colonial Hill Baptist Church, where I teach a Sunday school lesson on the cable TV channel immediately prior to the morning worship service. I am also serving as a deacon.
“I have also had the pleasure of serving in community work as president of the Snyder Chamber of Commerce, as a member of the Gold Coats and various economic development committees. I have chaired the Community Justice Council, as well as served as a volunteer and supporter of the Noah Project and Scurry County Senior Citizens Center.
“On a statewide level, I have chaired the State Bar of Texas Continuing Legal Education Committee, represented this district as a director of the Texas District and County Attorney’s Association and served on committees for the Judiciary and Judicial Section of the State Bar.”
