Applications are now being accepted for this year’s Kiwanis Club of Snyder Goodfellows food drive.
The Kiwanis Club expects to provide more than 200 qualified Snyder residents with food assistance this holiday season, club members say.
And the public is encouraged to help — the more money Kiwanians collect, the more food they will be able purchase and distribute to needy families Dec. 8 at The Coliseum annex.
Collection drives at area schools are expected to provide the lion’s share of the canned good items needed for the drive, while money donations can be made at any Snyder financial institution. Those donations will be used to purchase perishable food items.
“The more money we raise, the more families we can help,” club member Justin Rosson said. “The money we raise for Goodfellows stays with Goodfellows. None of it goes into the club’s general budget.”
Residents may donate money to the Goodfellows drive at any time, but the cutoff for this year’s effort is Dec. 2, club member Darryl Calley said.
Donation boxes have been set up at all Snyder banks, or people may mail donations to Kiwanis/Goodfellows, PO. Drawer 112, Snyder, TX 79550.
The deadlines for applications is Nov. 29.
