Yazzie 11th in steer wrestling

CASPER, Wyo — Western Texas College rodeo team members continue to compete, facing some of the best college rodeo athletes in the world at the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association national finals. 
Freshman steer wrestler Rooster Yazzie opened his week on Monday with a time of 6.3 seconds. He is currently in 11th place heading into today’s second round.
Freshman bull rider Colton Fritzlan got off to a hot start Monday with a ride that tied him for first place with 82 points. Fritzlan had his second ride this morning. He will wrap up the preliminary competition at 7 p.m. Thursday.
As a team, Western Texas College is currently in 15th place.
