Tigers come away with several first place finishes at Canyon Reef relays

Several Snyder athletes put together solid performances for the Snyder track teams during Thursday’s Canyon Reef Relays at Tiger Stadium.
Senior Greg Williams brought home first place finishes in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes and ran the final leg of the 4X100-meter relay that Snyder won.
Jeremiah Rodriguez edged Corey Landin for first place in the 800-meter run, with Snyder taking first and second in that race. Junior Christian Escobedo took second in both the 3200-meter and 1600-meter runs.
In the field events Chris Sifuentes and John Rivera came away with first place finishes. Sifuentes took first in the triple jump with a 37’3” jump and Rivera took first in the pole vault after clearing 11’.
As a team, the Snyder boys finished third overall, just one point behind San Angelo Lake View with 146.
The girls’ team total of 121 was good for third place behind Lubbock High and Levelland. Melyni Garcia secured a first place finish in the 100-meter hurdles, and teammate Madison Yescas taking third. Madelynn Cravens finished second in the 100-meter dash.
