Grand jury indicts four

The 132nd District Court Grand Jury issued four felony indictments recently.

Zachary Lyn Bast, 20, of Wellington, was indicted on a charge of claiming a lottery prize by fraud, a third-degree felony. According to the indictment, on Nov. 21, 2019, Bast knowingly claimed a lottery prize between $200 and $10,000 by fraud. The indictment alleged the scratch-off lottery tickets had been stolen from a local convenience store. 

Bond was set at $5,000.

Perry Keith Donnell Jr., 23, of Colorado City was indicted on a charge of possession of a prohibited weapon, a third-degree felony. According to the indictment, on Feb. 5, Donnell knowingly possessed a shotgun with a barrel length less than 18 inches which was not registered in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record maintained by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The weapon was not classified as a curio or relic by the U.S. Department of Justice.

Bond was set at $5,000.

Jesus Cerda Jr., 17, of Snyder was indicted on a charge of burglary of a building, a state-jail felony. According to the indictment, on April 2, Cerda intentionally entered a building without the effective consent of the owner and attempted to commit theft.

Bond was set at $5,000.

Zachary Jordan Villa, 19, of Snyder was indicted on a charge of burglary of a building, a state-jail felony. According to the indictment, on Oct. 18, 2019, Villa intentionally entered a building without effective consent of the owner and attempted to commit theft.

Bond was set at $5,000.
