Scurry County commissioners approved a baseball tournament to continue as planned when they met Monday morning.
The Aug. 22-23 Texas Punishers Back-to-School Bash tournament will feature eight- and nine-year-old players.
“We had planned it on the first and the second (of August),” said tournament organizer Nick Barboza. “It got canceled due to COVID of course, and now we’re pushing it to the 22nd and 23rd. We have four teams in each division submitted, and each team brings at least 10 players, which brings siblings, parents and other people to support hotels and restaurants.”
No other business was conducted during the special meeting. There were no line-item transfers or budget amendments, and no accounts payable were announced during the meeting.
