Towle Park will be filled with Cub Scouts and Boys Scouts on Saturday for the 21st annual Snyder fish-a-thon.
Registration will begin at 7 a.m. and fishing will start at 8 a.m. The fish-a-thon, which is a fundraiser for the Buffalo Trails Council of the Boy Scouts of America in Scurry County, will end at 4 p.m.
Participants will not be required to have a license and prior to the fish-a-thon, the pond will be stocked with channel catfish. Once the pond is stocked, it will be closed to public fishing until the day of the event.
Prizes will be awarded throughout the day and grand prizes will be presented at 4 p.m. All of the prizes are donated and anyone who liked to donate an item may call (432) 212-3577.
Vendors are welcome to set up during the fish-a-thon.
Camping for scouts and their families will also be available. Call James Bond at 436-7772 for camping guidelines.
