Sen. Charles Perry, R-Lubbock, was appointed to the Joint Interim Committee to Study Border Security by Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick.
The committee will assist with the management and implementation of resources that will help to secure the Texas/Mexico border.
Also appointed to the committee were Sens. Brian Birdwell, Eduardo “Eddie” Lucio Jr., Carlos Uresti and Bob Hall.
“This last session, we provided a historic level of funding and resources to our border security efforts,” Patrick said. “These five senators have the insight needed to support the needs of our law enforcement officials along the border. National security begins with border security and border security begins in Texas.”
