SHS band to begin practice Monday

Snyder High School athletes will not be the only ones getting ready for the 2016 season on Monday.
The Pride of the West Marching Band will begin practices Monday to prepare for the marching season.
Monday and Tuesday have been designated orientation days by Band Director Jeremy McCurdy. From 9-11:45 a.m. Monday, new marcher orientation and training will be held, followed by percussion practice from 1:30-3 p.m.
The first full band rehearsal is will be held from 6:30-9 p.m. Tuesday.
Wednesday through Friday, section rehearsals will be held during the day with full band rehearsals set from 6:30-9 p.m. Flutes and clarinets will rehearse at 9 a.m., followed by saxophones and mellophones at 10 a.m. Trumpets, trombones, baritones and tubas will rehearse at 11 a.m. and percussion will rehearse at 6:30 p.m.
Full band rehearsals are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Aug. 8-9, Aug. 11, Aug. 15-16 and Aug. 18.
Uniforms will be issued to juniors and seniors from 3-5 p.m. Aug. 17 and from 3-6 p.m. Aug. 18 for sophomores, freshmen and new marchers.
