Dale Hamby
1938-2019
Dale Hamby, 80, died Tuesday, April 3, 2019 at Cogdell Memorial Hospital.
Funeral service for Mr. Hamby will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ben Reid and Hospice Chaplain Kinney Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Snyder Cemetery under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Dale was born on April 1, 1939 in San Marcos in Hays County to Ollie and Julia (Harrell) Hamby. 
He graduated in 1956 from Stamford High School before enrolling at Tarleton State University in Stephenville. He earned a bachelor’s degree in education of history at North Texas State University, now University of North Texas in Denton, and earned a master’s degree at Hardin- Simmons University in Abilene. Upon completion of his post-graduate studies at Texas A&M University in College Station, he began his career as an educator, spanning 43 years across Texas. He began his career seven years before settling in Snyder. He taught for Snyder ISD for 25 years, including Texas history and driver’s education. He retired in 2003.
He was a member of the Hayrick Masonic Lodge No. 696, Masonic District No. 77, located in Coke County. He was recently recognized for his 50 years of service. 
He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. He married Carolyn Stuckey on June 18, 1971 in Abilene.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Carolyn, and their daughter, Laura and her husband, Bobby Griffith, all of Snyder; two grandchildren, Piper and Boden Griffith, both of Snyder; his brother, Frank Hamby and his wife, Patsy, of Dallas, Ga.; and his sisters and brother-in-law, David and Kathyrn Stuckey and Susie Stuckey; four nieces, Sara Jones, Nancy Tomasini, Lynda Hamby and Susan Crutchfield; and two nephews, Joshua Stuckey and Michael Hamby.

Richard Hoxsey Sr.
1960-2019
Willis Richard Hoxsey Sr., 59, died Thursday, March 21, 2019 in Snyder.
A memorial service for Mr. Hoxsey will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Highfield officiating.
Born on March 9, 1960 in Sarcoxie, Mo. to Richard and Geraldine (Hill) Hoxsey, he married Anna Garcia on Oct. 13, 1995 in San Angelo. He was a veteran and had a fondness for Calvary Baptist Church. He loved his family, carpentry work and his country.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Geraldine (Hill) Hoxsey, and one brother, Joe Hickey.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Hoxsey of Snyder; one daughter, Tiffany Hoxsey of Snyder; two sons, Willis Richard Hoxsey Jr. of Snyder and Jonathan Tyler Rangel of Cisco; two brothers, Steven Hoxsey and Dean Hickey, both of Killeen; and four sisters, Judy Hoxsey, LaVonna Hoisington and Connie Tilton, all of Killeen, and Tina Fariello of Alabama.
