James "Jim" Parker
1937-2020
James "Jim" Parker, 83, of Irving died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2020.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home in Irving. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Church Chapel, 4401 State Hwy. 161 in Irving, followed by a committal service at Roselawn Memorial Park, 3801 Roselawn Dr. in Denton.
He was born June 21, 1937, in Big Spring to the late Hood Parker and Lona Carter Parker. Jim was married to Billie Milton for 62 years and was a resident of Irving for 45 years. Jim attended Calvary Church in Irving. He was a Texas Tech University alumnus and attended a multitude of Red Raider football games every season.
Jim and Billie loved to travel. Jim especially enjoyed playing golf in such prestigious places as the Old Course in St. Andrews, Scotland, and Pebble Beach, Calif. He took pleasure in working with cattle at the family ranch.
Survivors include his wife; his daughter, Cindy Parker of Irving; his sister, Frances Page and husband, Larry, of South Carolina; his brother, Hood Parker Jr. and wife, Jo, of Snyder; his granddaughter, Chelsea Berry of Irving; his great-granddaughter, Danica Embry; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
If desired, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
