Angelea Carey

1918-2018

Angelea Carey, 99, of Merkel and formerly of Snyder, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018 in Merkel. 

Funeral arrangements are pending at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

 

Frances Garcia

1927-2018

Frances B. Garcia went to her heavenly home on Monday, Feb. 19, 2018 with her loving family surrounding her.

Funeral service for Mrs. Garcia was held at 10 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Rotan. Burial followed at Belvieu Cemetery in Rotan under the direction of Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.

Frances Balerio Garcia was born on Sept. 19, 1927 to Pedro Balerio and Maria Olivares Balerio. She married the love of her life, Floyd Garcia, on Aug. 23, 1947 at the First Baptist Church of Rotan. Family was the most important thing in her life. Frances loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Frances was a strong Christian and lived by her Christian faith. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. However, she attended many services at First Baptist Church.

Frances was a loving, caring and compassionate person. She loved everyone she came in contact with. She was a grandma to many. Frances loved to quilt and crochet. She made many quilts and when complete, she would give them away to family and friends. She loved to share her talents with others.

She will be remembered for her wonderful cooking and feeding everyone that came to her home whether hungry or not. Frances was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Her favorite message to everyone was, “It is no secret what God can do. What He did for others he’ll do for you.” 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Maria Balerio; her husband of 52 years, Floyd Garcia; her brothers, Manuel Balerio and Nieves Balerio; her sisters, Jesusa “Susie” Morales, Sofia Silva and Olga Gonzalez; her granddaughter, Rachael Garcia; and her grandson, Matthew Garcia.

Survivors include her sons, Floyd Garcia Jr., Pete Garcia and his wife, Margaret, Frank Garcia and his wife, Trudy, Manuel Garcia and his wife, Veronica, David Carter and James and Darlene Carter; her grandchildren, Pete Garcia Jr., Clinton Garcia, Hollye Garcia, Crystal Garcia, Michael Carrisalez, Rudy Mendoza and his wife, Teresa, and Zach Mendoza and his wife, Sandra; her great-grandchildren, Dustin Garcia, Bailey Garcia, Reagan Perez, Briana Carrisalez, Fabian Carrisalez, Luis Carrisalez, Ava Mendoza, Kaniel Mendoza, Andrea Mendoza, Victoria and David Kava, Emmanuel Kava, Christopher Mendoza, Michaela Mendoza and Isabella Mendoza; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Jerry Joelson

1923-2018

Jerry D. Joelson, 94, of Snyder, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018 in Snyder. 

A private family service is planned at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Born on Oct. 21, 1923 in Boswell, Okla. to Kirk and Ethel (Snow) Holland, she married Pete Sapp, who preceded her in death. She worked in banking and then worked 30 years  for Meridith Credit Union in Des Moines, Iowa. 

She was also preceded in death by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include one sister, Roxie Angel of Snyder; one niece, Triesta Lilly and her husband, Troy, of Snyder; one nephew, Travis Angel and his wife, Charlotte, of Bryan; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Jose Ramos

1958-2018

Jose Ramos, 59, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018 in Snyder.

Memorial service for Mr. Ramos will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Miller Family Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Ramos was born on Dec. 18, 1958 in San Antonio to Alfonso and Delfina (Pena) Ramos. He graduated from Snyder High School and worked for Walmart for a number of years. Jose’s life will forever be cherished by his siblings.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister-in-law, Rose Ramos, and one great-niece, Arianna Lynn Delfina Castillo.

Survivors include his siblings, Alfonso Ramos and his wife, Sue Anne, of Houston, Jesse Ramos of Plano, Janie Delao and her husband, Ruben, and Mary Ann Garcia, all of Snyder; his nieces and nephews, Billy Delao and his fiancee, Kathy, of Melissa, Ruben Delao Jr. and his wife, Patricia, and Daniela Garcia, all of Snyder, Alfonso Delao and his wife, Geneva, of Lubbock, Abby Stanutz and her husband, Ben, and Maxine Ramos, all of Dallas, Brian Ramos and his wife, Ashley, of Houston, Cary Ramos of Florida, Samantha Green and her wife, Jessica, of Lamore, Calif. and Adrienne Green and her husband, Jon, of Big Spring; 17 great-nieces and great-nephews; and one great-great-nephew.

Wanda Rosebrough, 96, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2018.
