David Davis
1944-2018
David Wright Davis, 73, of Snyder, died Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Goodlife Senior Living.
Memorial service for Mr. Davis will be held at 10 a.m. June 18 at 37th Street Church of Christ with Bob Martin officiating. The service will be under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Mr. Davis was born on Sept. 14, 1944 in Snyder to Willis “Bill” Wright and Nellie Mae (Neal) Davis. He married Kathy Crisp on Jan. 22, 2000 in Snyder.
David left Snyder and eventually moved to Longview, where he raised his family. He later moved to Giddings, where he lived when he and Kathy married and where he later retired from Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative in 2005, after being with the company for 24 years. He and Kathy returned to Snyder in 2010.
David was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved and was proud of his family and would have done anything for them. He loved nothing more than having his entire family gathered together. Anyone who knew him well knew how much he enjoyed making people laugh with his jokes, stories and shenanigans. He passed his love for a good laugh to his girls, who loved to give it back to him.
He was a member of 37th Street Church of Christ, and he and his family appreciated all the visits and prayers for him by the church members.
David treasured the friendships he made throughout his life. In recent years, he especially valued the friends that were like family to him at Tiger Donuts.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Davis of Snyder; four daughters, Kimberly Quinn, and his son-in-law, Kevin, and his grandchildren, Lainey and Aidan, all of Argyle, Kelli Stanford and her husband, Darryl, and his grandchildren, Gracie and Connor, all of Union Grove, Julie Franklin of Cottonwood, Ariz. and his granddaughter, Merina Franklin of San Marcos, and Laura Parker and his son-in-law, Darryl, and his grandchildren, Noah and Caleb French, all of Colleyville; one sister, Wanda Stipe and her husband, Mike, of Snyder; one nephew, Curtis Stipe and his wife, Ashley, of Prosper; one niece, Karen Westmoreland and her husband, Perry, of Snyder; three great-nephews, Blake Massey, Layton Westmoreland and his wife, Samatha, and Bryce Westmoreland; and one great-niece, Brooke Massey.
David’s family would like to thank Kindred Health and Hospice for the care they provided to him over the last few years and also a thank you to Goodlife Senior Living for the abundant love, compassion and care the staff gave David in the last few weeks.

Dempsey Mayes, 90, of Snyder, died Friday, June 8, 2018.

Theda Moore
1928-2018
Theda Jo Moore, 90, of Roscoe and formerly of Paris, died Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Goodlife Senior Living.
Funeral service for Mrs. Moore was held at 2 p.m. today at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home with the Rev. Ben Reid officiating. A private family graveside service followed.
Born on April 19, 1928 in Cape Girardeau, Mo. to Elbert and Blanche (Whitener) Heuschober, she married A.C. Moore on June 2, 1947 in Fort Worth. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2009. Theda was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Paris and was involved with the Paris 4-H Club, the Lamar County Livestock Association and the Red River Valley Fair Association. She was also involved with the Snyder Gold Coats, Home Demonstration Club and the Scurry County Senior Citizens Center.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Jerry Moore.
Survivors include two sons, Steve Moore and his wife, Renee, of Roscoe and Mark Moore and his wife, Beth, of Salida, Colo.; and five grandchildren, Chelsie Richard and her husband, Ryan, Lindsey Robinson and Tara Moore, all of Dallas, Leslie Wakefield and her husband, Clayton, of Katy and Marly Segura and her husband, Martin, of Aurora, Colo.
Memorials may be made to the Scurry County Senior Citizens Center, Second Chance Dog Rescue or a charity of choice.

Dorothy Yvonne Snowden, 74, of Snyder, died Friday, June 1, 2018 at Snyder Healthcare Center.
A memorial service for Mrs. Snowden will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Brad Daniels officiating.
Dennis Vaughan
1958-2018
Dennis Dale Vaughan, 59, died Sunday, June 10, 2018 in Snyder.
Memorial service for Mr. Vaughn will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry McAden officiating. The Rev. Steve Highfield will assist. The service will be under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Born on July 29, 1958 in Malvern, Ark. to Robert and Bobbie (Cagle) Vaughan, he married Sherry Williams on Dec. 2, 1995 in Snyder. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and hunting,
He was preceded in death by his father; one son, Aaron Vaughan; and two sisters, Starlett Bailey and Barbara Ann Vaughan.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Vaughan of Snyder; one daughter, Michelle Van Oordt, of Fort Collins, Colo.; one son, Daniel Vaughan of Fort Collins, Colo.; two stepsons, Shane Ballard and his wife, Tiffany, of Wichita Falls and Shannon Ballard and his wife, Ella, of Dallas; seven grandchildren; his mother, Bobbie Vaughan of Snyder; one brother, Gayland Vaughan and his wife, Debbie, of Snyder; two sisters, Bonnie McDorman of Snyder and Velda Waliky and her husband, Bob, of Kerrville; one sister-in-law, Debra Collins of Snyder; and several nieces and nephews.
