Darlene Beard

1951-2015
Darlene Beard, 63, of Snyder, died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015 at her residence.
Funeral service for Mrs. Beard will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Colonial Hill Baptist Church with Dr. Tommy Culwell officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Born on Oct. 22, 1951 in Snyder to O.P. and Ruth Katherine (Eastman) Tate, she married Jerry Beard on June 2, 1972 in Snyder. She taught with Snyder ISD for 22 years and was a member of Colonial Hill Baptist Church and the American Home Economics Association. She owned and operated the Cotton Patch Crafts, Ceramic and Stained Glass Shop. She was a Postmaster in Westbrook for two years and also worked in the Dunn Post Office.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Don Beard of Snyder; one daughter, Jennifer Denise Beard of Snyder; one son, Jeremy David Beard of Snyder; and one sister, Barbra Gail Jones of Snyder.

Merle Richardson
1939-2015
Merle Ann Richardson, 75, of Snyder, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015.
Funeral service for Mrs. Richardson will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Word is Life Deliverance Church with the Rev. Tony Wofford and Pastor Ernest Ray Brandon officiating. Burial will
follow at Snyder Cemetery under the direction of Miller Family Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Merle Ann Richardson was born to Bennie and Diamond Pope on Dec. 23, 1939 in Fairplay. She was a graduate of Sunset High School in Beckville. She became a member of the Old Bethel Baptist Church in Clayton at an early age and later joined the Jerusalem Church of God in Christ in Easton. She was a meat wrapper for Town and Country Meat Center before becoming self-employed in 1989. She was a longtime member of Word is Life Deliverance Church until recently and became a member of Kingdom Seekers Tabernacle.

She married Charlie Richardson Jr. on Oct. 25, 1960 in Easton. To that union six children were born — Cheryl Slay and her husband, Vincent, Shrunda Ray and her husband, Maurice, Shelia Allison and her husband, Tommy, Shunda Lane and her husband, Arthur, and Charlie E. “Charli Boi” Richardson, all of Snyder, and CharlesR. Richardson of McKinney.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1968; her mother in 1998; her husband, Charlie Richardson Jr., in 2001; and six brothers.

Survivors also include two sisters, JoAnn Tatum and Ira Dell Brown, both of Carthage; 15 grandchildren, LaDerrick Richardson and his wife, Cathy, LaCrystal Brooks, D’Angelo Davis and his wife, Julie, LaShekka Gallegos and her husband, Roger, D’Andrew Davis, DaNorris Smith, LaShondrick Richardson, LaTekka Richardson, LaTeisha Richardson, Da-  Shay Smith, D’Vincent Allison, LaTysha Richardson, Kykii Allison, LaKreica Lane and LaShyra Lane; 26 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
