Jessie Bowden

1917-2017

Jessie Ree Mabel Willis Bowden was born on Nov. 27, 1917 in Atoka County, Okla. to Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Willis. She joined her heavenly family on Oct 4, 2017.  

Memorial service for Mrs. Bowden will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Baptist Church in San Antonio. The service will be under the direction of Sunset Funeral Home. 

Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Jessie was a loving mother, mentor and friend. She owned several businesses, beauty salons and Jessie’s Beauty College in Snyder and Denton. She was affectionately known as “Miss Jessie.” She will be fondly remembered enjoying music with her family. From her lovely hair to her cute shoes, she was a woman of faith, positivity, gratitude, grace, poise and class. She will be greatly missed by all. 

She was preceded in death by three brothers, four sisters and one grandson, Darrell Roland.  

Survivors include her children Glen Roland and his wife, Iris, Shirley Grimmett and her husband, Norman, Kenneth Roland and his wife, Mary, and Linda Lee and her husband, Terry, nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Michelle Craig

1971-2017

Michelle Craig, 46, of Snyder, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017 in Snyder. 

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Miss Craig was born on April 2, 1971 in Colorado City  to Lonny and Linda (Martin) Craig.

Survivors include her mother, Linda Cline and her husband, John, of Snyder; two sons, Brody and Brendan Thrower, both of Carrollton; four sisters, Stephanie Craig of Weatherford, Stacie Cline of Austin, Debra Walker of Ira and Lana Cline of College Station; one brother, Dr. Mike  Cline of Raleigh, N.C.; and her father, Lonny Craig of Snyder.

Helen Crouse

1927-2017

Helen Beth Crouse, 89, a longtime resident of Snyder, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017 in Waco. 

Graveside service for Mrs. Crouse will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hillside Memorial Gardens with Dr. Darold Baldwin officiating. The service will be under the direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Crouse was born on Nov. 27, 1927 in Burkett to Bill and Doris (Brown) Underwood. She began working in the data processing department of Cogdell Memorial Hospital in 1977 and was named the business officer manager in 1985. She retired in 1994. She was a member of Colonial Hill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Marcus Underwood and Ned Underwood; one nephew, Randy Underwood; and one sister-in-law, Jacqueline Underwood.

Survivors include two sons, Billy Jack Crouse and his wife, Kathy, of Montgomery and Ricky Crouse of Snyder; two grandchildren, Kate Crouse of Dallas and Mark Crouse of Anchorage, Alaska; one brother, Billy Underwood and his wife, Carolyn, of Mesquite; two sisters-in-law, Polly Underwood of Waco and Margaret Smith of Midland; five nieces, Barbara Morris, Wilma Nix, Lisa Berryhill, Pam Gibson and Suzanne Underwood; and two nephews, Alton Carrie and Max Underwood.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
