A Snyder auto dealership has joined the growing list of Reagor-Dykes companies to file bankruptcy, but not before being hit with a tax lien and lawsuit.
The comptroller’s office filed a state tax lien against Reagor-Dykes Snyder, LP, for more than $3,000.
The lien, filed in County Clerk Melody Appleton’s office, states the dealership owes the State of Texas $2,520, the City of Snyder $592 and Scurry County $197.
The lien, filed Oct. 26, states the liabilities were created in July.
According to the document, the lien is for unpaid limited sales, excise and use tax.
A week earlier, a Georgia-based bank filed a lawsuit against Reagor-Dykes of Snyder, LP, claiming a trade-in check was returned due to insufficient funds.
Lubbock attorney Phil A. Johnson filed the lawsuit in the 132nd Judicial District Clerk’s office on behalf of Fidelity Bank, which is based in Atlanta, Ga.
Several other Snyder businesses, as well as Scurry County, have previously reported that the local dealership had unpaid bills with them.
On Friday, the Snyder dealership filed for bankruptcy protection along with four additional Reagor-Dykes properties, including Reagor Auto Mall, Reagor Dykes Auto Mall, Reagor Dykes II LLC, Reagor Dykes III LLC.
After the latest round of filings, 11 Reagor-Dykes dealerships have now filed for bankruptcy protection.
The earlier filings included Reagor-Dykes Motors, Reagor-Dykes Imports, Reagor-Dykes Amarillo, Reagor-Dykes Auto Company, Reagor-Dykes Plainview and Reagor-Dykes Floydada.
