Biggers finishes second at state powerlifting meet

WACO — Snyder’s Kerrington Biggers lifted 980 pounds and finished second in the Class 4A 165-pound weight class at the Texas Women’s Coaches Powerlifting Association state meet Friday night.

Biggers started the competition by squatting 400 pounds and a bench press of 175 pounds. She had 405 pounds in the deadlift.

Cheyenne Avila was third in the 132-pound weight class, lifting 850 pounds. Avila squatted 350 pounds and had a bench press of 185 pounds. She lifted 315 pounds in the deadlift.

Hermleigh’s Amanda Long was scheduled to compete in the Class 1A 220-pound weight class today.
