After making its presence felt at the high school level, COVID-19 postponements have reached youth sports.
The Shining Stars, Snyder Little League and Snyder Little Dribblers have all postponed their seasons due to the virus. Both the Little Dribblers and the Shining Stars will not resume play until Snyder ISD athletics resume.
Shining Stars director Stephen Read said that he is following the lead of Snyder ISD and will postpone play along with the school district.
Snyder Little League is also in a delay, according to President Johnny Pena. Pena said the league will meet in the next week to discuss the future.
Scurry County Golf Course has closed but the Sammy Baugh Golf Course  at WTC will remain open under new guidelines.
Starting Saturday, the course will require tee times for all golfers. No more than five golfers are allowed on the putting greens, driving range and practice green at a time, there will be no playing through other groups, golfers must leave the flag stick in the hole to avoid contact, golfers are restricted to one golfer per cart, excluding immediate family, and the pro shop will allow no more than six people in the store at one time.
The Snyder News will post updates on local leagues as they become available.
