Lady Bulldogs defeat Borden County for share of district title

IRA — The Ira Lady Bulldogs claimed a share of the District 12-1A championship with Highland after beating Borden County 63-59 on Tuesday.
Ira and Highland will play a game to determine the top seed for the playoffs. The date and time will be announced once they are finalized.
Ira (22-4, 6-2) led 15-10 at the end of the first quarter and 38-25 at halftime. The Lady Bulldogs increased the lead to 55-35 at the end of the third quarter. Borden County outscored Ira 24-8 in the fourth quarter.
Madison Peterson scored 21 points and had six rebounds. Shailee Manning had 12 points, six rebounds, seven assists and three steals. Lexie Hanshew had three steals. Alyssa Goodwin and Peterson each made a 3-pointer.

The Ira Bulldogs lost to Borden County, 76-25.

The Bulldogs (6-16, 2-6) will play at Hermleigh Friday.

Hermleigh Boys
HERMLEIGH — The Hermleigh Cardinals lost to Westbrook, 53-46.
Dylan Randolph scored 12 points while Kyle Roemisch and Dylan Sorrells each finished with 10 points.
The Cardinals (12-8, 5-3) can earn the district’s No. 2 seed by beating Ira and Loraine. Hermleigh will host Ira on Friday and Loraine on Tuesday.
