Eight Snyder lifters will compete at Saturday’s Region 1, Division 2 powerlifting meet in Levelland.
Three lifters are currently ranked No. 1 in their weight classes — Diamond Escobedo (123-pound weight class), Cheyenne Avila (132-pound weight class) and Kerrington Biggers (165-pound weight class).
Bergandi Alvarado and Sara McClain are fourth in the 123-pound and 220-pound weight classes, respectively.
Natalia Juarez is fifth in the 114-pound weight class and Bonnie Jasper is fifth in the 148-pound weight class. Caelyn Gaines is 10th in the 181-pound weight class.
The top two lifters at the regional meet will advance to the state meet, which will be held March 17 in Waco.
