BREWER — The Snyder Lady Tigers defeated Joshua 12-8 and lost to Keller Fossil Ridge 7-6 at the Brewer Softball Tournament Thursday.
Joshua took a 3-0 lead in the first inning, but Snyder scored two runs in the bottom of the inning.
The Lady Tigers took the lead with six runs in the second inning. Alyssa Molinar and Hailey Morris hit RBI singles, Claudia Gutierrez had an RBI double and Kerrington Biggers had an RBI triple to highlight the second inning.
In the third inning, Gutierrez hit a grand slam to give Snyder a 12-3 lead. Joshua scored five runs in the fourth, but the game ended due to the time limit.
Gutierrez hit a double and home run with five RBIs while Nicole Clark had two singles with two RBIs. Morris, Jasmine Montoya, Molinar and Benitez each hit two singles.
Gutierrez was the winning pitcher.
Against Fossil Ridge, Morris hit an RBI single in the first inning. Fossil Ridge scored two runs in the bottom of the inning and added five runs in the third to build a 7-1 lead.
The Lady Tigers scored two runs in the fourth on an RBI single by Benitez and sacrifice fly by Natalee James.
In the fifth inning, Molinar stole home and Morris hit a two-run home run. The game ended on the time limit.
Morris hit two doubles and a home run with three RBIs. Clark was the losing pitcher.
Snyder (2-2) was scheduled to play Weatherford at 2:30 p.m. today and Aledo at 6 p.m.
The Lady Tigers will play Waxahachie at 11:4 a.m. and Saginaw at 1:30 p.m. Saturday
