HERMLEIGH Thanks to the Lady Cardinals’ run in the Class 1A basketball playoffs, Hermleigh’s softball team has gotten a late start to the 2024 season.
That won’t bother the defending Class 1A state champions who return several starters who played in the title game.
Hermleigh started its campaign with a pair of victories but ran into a hot pitcher against Hawley on Tuesday.
