Body

In this week’s installment of The Snyder News All-Decade series, we look at the best Snyder Lady Tiger basketball players from the past decade.
First Team
Natalee James
2017 to 2020

While she was elite in softball and volleyball, it was on the basketball court that James shined. Unquestionably the top Lady Tiger of the past decade, James was one of the top players in the region during her four years on the varsity squad.
As a freshman, James took over the point guard duties for first-year head coach T’Leah Eicke and while the team struggled, James gained experience and was named second team all-district after averaging 2.7 points per game.
After that, James never averaged less than 10 points per game in her career. As a sophomore, James averaged 10.7 points per game with five rebounds and recorded 72 assists and 42 steals from the guard position. She earned first team all-district honors and all-state accolades for her efforts.
As a junior, James averaged 14.2 points per game with 3.7 rebounds and a total of 96 steals. She was named the district’s Offensive Player of the Year and earned all-region and all-state accolades. Heading into her senior season, James led the Lady Tigers to a 19-15 record and a bi-district championship. Along the way, she was named a McDonald All-American nominee and was named the district MVP.
By the end of her career, James was a four-time all-district player, three-time all state and three-time all-region. She will continue her basketball career at Hardin-Simmons University.
Jacoree Brooks
2010 to 2011

Brooks was a tall and athletic post player who dominated the paint for the Lady Tigers in the first two seasons of the decade.
She and fellow senior Laura Reigh made up one of the tallest teams the Lady Tigers have fielded in the last 10 years. As a junior in 2010, Brooks earned all-district honorable mention and helped lead the Lady Tigers to a winning record.
In her senior season, Brooks emerged as one of the better players in the district, earning first team honors. Brooks went on to play two years at Western Texas College from 2012 to 2014.
Jentri Driggers
2010 to 2012

In her three years as a starter, Driggers was one of the most productive players of the past decade.
Driggers earned all-district honorable mention honors as a sophomore in 2010. As a junior, Driggers earned second team honors playing alongside Brooks and Reigh. After that duo graduated, it was up to Driggers to carry the load as a senior in 2012.
She earned first team honors and played in the FCA All-Star Festival for the North Team to conclude her career. She was named to the all-district team in all three of her years as a starter for the Lady Tiger program.
Bailey Garcia
2013 to 2016

Garcia was a steady presence for the Lady Tigers from 2013 to 2016. In her four years as a starter, she earned all-district honors three times.
In her sophomore season, Garcia earned honorable mention honors after averaging 2.4 points per game. As a junior she averaged seven points per game with 25 steals, 24 rebounds and 16 assists. She became known for her defensive skills and earned first team all-district honors.
Garcia averaged seven points per game as a senior and continued to be a defensive rock for the Lady Tigers. While the team struggled in 2016, Garcia earned second team honors and finished her career as a four-year starter and three-time all-district player.
Kamiah Davis
2018 to present

While we may have yet to have seen the best of Davis, what we have seen has been impressive.
Davis wasted no time making an impact at the varsity level. She was named the district Newcomer of the Year as freshman in 2018 after averaging 7.5 points and three rebounds per game and totaled 52 assists, 41 steals and eight blocks over the season. In 2019, Davis helped lead the Lady Tigers to a 19-13 regular season record. Davis was named first team all-district after she averaged 11 points per game, second only to James for the team lead, and three rebounds per game. 2020 went much like the previous year as James and Davis returned to lead the Lady Tigers to consecutive bi-district titles. Davis was named the district co-defensive MVP in 2020 and earned all-region and TGCA all-state honors.
Second Team
Alize Conner
2016 to 2018

Another multi-year starter, Conner was a prolific scorer during her time in the black and gold. As a freshman in 2016, Conner was the Lady Tigers’ go-to scorer, averaging 12.5 points per game with 4.5 rebounds, earning second team all-district honors. Conner put up big numbers as a junior, earning first team honors after averaging 15 points per game and nine rebounds.
Lindzi Clemmer
2013 to 2014

While she may have been a star on the softball field, Clemmer was a solid basketball player as well. In her two years as a starter, in 2013 and 2014, Clemmer earned first-team honors and led the Lady Tigers in scoring in 2014 with 14.6 points per game. Clemmer went on to have a successful softball career at Lubbock Christian University.
Chelsea Lambaren
2014 to 2015

In her first year as a starter in 2014, Lambaren averaged 4.5 points per game and earned second team all-district honors. She improved her senior season and became a jack of all trades for the Lady Tigers. Lambaren averaged nine points per game and 6.4 rebounds and recorded 14 steals, five assists and nine blocks en route to her first team all-district selection.
