Three Snyder High School baseball players were named to the Texas Sports Writers Association’s Class 4A all-state team.
Senior pitcher Taylor Munkres was a second team selection while senior outfielder Kurt Dryden was named to the third team. Senior first baseman Logan Tate was an honorable mention selection.
Munkres, who was the District 2-4A pitcher of the year, had an 11-1 record in 13 starts and earned three saves in four relief appearances. In 2016, he allowed 85 hits, struck out 105 batters and walked 44 in 91 innings while compiling a 1.58 ERA.
Dryden had a .358 batting average with 13 doubles, two triples, 21 RBIs and one stolen base.
Tate, the district’s co-offensive players of the year, had a .380 batting average with five doubles, one triple, 28 RBIs and seven stolen bases.
