Snyder’s Omar Alonzo, Sean Humphrey and Kobe Fahntrapp will compete at the Texas High School Powerlifting Coaches Association Class 4A state meet Saturday at the Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene.
Humphrey is ranked fifth in the 275-pound weight class and Alonzo is seventh in the 123-pound weight class. Fahntrapp is 32nd in the super heavyweight class.
At the regional meet, Humphrey won his weight class with lifts totaling 1,585 pounds. Alonzo finished second with lifts totaling 895 pounds. Fahntrapp was second with lifts totaling 1,485 pounds.
Weigh-in will be held from 6:30-8 a.m., with the opening ceremonies set for 8:30 a.m. Saturday. The competition is expected to begin at 8:45 a.m.
Admission is $5 per person and children under five will be admitted free. Doors will open at 7:30 a.m.
