WTC advances to semifinals

WOLFFORTH — Western Texas College erased an 18-point deficit in the second half to force overtime and advanced to the Region V Basketball Tournament semifinals with a 104-95 win over Temple College.

WTC (21-9) will play top-ranked South Plains College (29-0) at 8 p.m. today. The winner will advance to the championship game at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Westerners trailed 71-53 with nine minutes left in regulation. Jordan Tolbert made two free throws with 0.5 of a second left to tie the game at 90-90. Anton Bilous scored six of his 19 points during overtime, when WTC outscored Temple, 14-5.

DaQuan Jeffries scored 25 points and had 13 rebounds. Tolbert had 18  points and five assists.

Kolbe Kinghorn had 11 rebounds while Jordan Evans had four steals. Bilious had four assists.
