Crews from Nobles Construction of Abilene will begin the 37th Street renovation project at 8 a.m. Thursday, City of Snyder Public Works Director Eli Torres said today.
During the project, which is estimated will take two weeks to complete, crews will mill off the top two inches of the street from College Ave. to El Paso Ave., then overlay it with sealcoating and hot mix before finishing up with striping and marking work, Torres said.
Crews are scheduled to begin the milling process at 37th Street and College Ave. and proceed west to El Paso Ave.
During this time, the westbound lanes of 37th Street will be closed to traffic, but cross streets will be open, depending on where crews are working at that time.
Torres advised motorists to find alternate routes to their destinations.
Once the westbound section is milled, the process will be reversed and crews will mill the eastbound lanes of 37th Street from El Paso Ave. to College Ave. on Friday.
The street will be closed to eastbound traffic during that time.
Torres said all lanes will be open during the evening hours.
If the weather cooperates, crews will begin sealcoating 37th Street Monday, then spend the following week pouring asphalt and completing the project.
