WACO — Snyder’s Kerrington Biggers lifted 980 pounds and finished second in the Class 4A 165-pound weight class at the Texas Women’s Coaches Powerlifting Association state meet Friday night.

ANDREWS — The Snyder Tigers finished non-district play by splitting a baseball doubleheader against Andrews Friday.

The Western Texas College softball team swept a doubleheader against El Paso Community College in the Western Junior College Athletic Conference opener at United Field Friday.

Two Snyder powerlifters, and one from Hermleigh, will compete Saturday at the Texas Women’s Coaches Powerlifting Association meet at the Extract Events Center in Waco.

BROWNFIELD — Jake Chavez and Colton Lee combined to pitch a 4-hit shutout as the Snyder Tigers defeated Brownfield 10-0 in a non-district baseball game Thursday.

PAMPA — The Snyder Lady Tigers lost to Pampa 17-6 in a non-district softball game Thursday.

Pampa scored two runs in the first inning and seven in the second for a 9-0 lead.

Thirteen Scurry County players were named to the District 12-1A boys’ all-district basketball team.

Ira’s Karson Valentine was named the newcomer of the year.

BIG SPRING — A nearly four-year undefeated run through district competition ended when the Snyder Lady Tigers lost to Big Spring 9-4 in a District 5-4A softball game Tuesday.
